Takes off from a flat hand

They will ask to go outside. That is the whole point.
It is a fighter jet cut out of thick EPP foam, with four rotors sunk flat into the wing and a coloured light ring around each one. It lifts off a flat hand, holds its own height, and comes back down on one button. No runway, no throwing, no crashing it into the fence on the first go.
Push the stick and it rolls all the way over. Hold the other one and it circles whatever it is flying around. Three speeds, so it starts slow enough for a first flight and gets quick enough to stay interesting.
Foam takes the hits. It bounces off a hedge, off a wall, off the garage door, and goes back up. The battery pops out and charges over USB-C, and four spare propellers come in the box.
| Body | EPP foam, rounded nose and edges, four rotors set flat into the wing. |
| Lights | a coloured LED ring around each of the four rotors. |
| Flying | one-touch takeoff and landing, height hold, 360 degree roll, circle mode, three speeds and an emergency stop. |
| Control | 4-channel remote, mode 2, two sticks. The supplier states a range of 70 metres. |
| Flight time | the supplier states 5 to 10 minutes per charge. |
| Battery | removable rechargeable module, charged over USB-C. Cable included. |
| In the box | jet, remote, spare battery module, 4 spare propellers, USB-C cable, manual. |
| Colours | blue or red markings on a grey body. |
| Age | we mark this one 8 and up ourselves. |
We mark this one 8 and up, and that is our call: the maker prints 14 and up. Eight is where a child can work two sticks at once and remember to land before the battery runs out. Younger than that, fly it together.
The FAA's registration rule for recreational flyers starts at 250 grams, about 8.8 ounces. This is a foam toy that weighs a small fraction of that. Rules change and they are yours to check, but this is not the class of aircraft that rule was written for.
The supplier states 5 to 10 minutes per charge. The battery is a module that pops out and charges over USB-C with the cable in the box, so a second one turns one flight into two.
The airframe is EPP foam, the thick kind with visible beads, and the four rotors sit sunk into the wing rather than out on arms. It bounces off hedges and walls. Four spare propellers come in the box for the day one of them does not.
We pack within 24 to 48 hours, then 8 to 15 days to your door, tracked the whole way. Shipping is $9.95 flat per order, free over $60.
