Magnetic Cube Track Train Set, Build-Your-Own Railway for Kids

The track is the toy. Your child snaps the cubes together, decides where the line goes, then puts the train on and finds out if it works. It usually does not, the first time. That is the good part: they pull a piece out, turn it, try again, and the run finally goes all the way round.

Every piece connects to every other piece by magnet, so there is no fiddly clip to line up and nothing to force. A three-year-old can join two cubes on the first try. An eight-year-old will spend an afternoon getting a bridge to hold.

Straight cubes make the runs. Curved pieces turn them. Blue supports lift the line off the floor, and the poles and bases hold it there, so the track climbs instead of just spreading. Same set, a different layout every time it comes out of the box.

The train charges, it does not eat batteries

The little train has a rechargeable motor and comes with its own USB cable. Plug it in, wait, put it back on the rails. No drawer full of AAs, no screwdriver, no toy that dies mid-game on a Sunday.

Good to know

The magnets sit inside the pieces, there is nothing loose in the box. The manufacturer's box is printed for ages 3 and up. Wipe the pieces with a damp cloth, keep the train away from water, and store the poles upright so they do not bend.
