A sorting set sorts. A lock-and-key train opens locks. Toys that promise everything hold a child for about a week. \u003cstrong\u003eIt is made of something with real texture\u003c\/strong\u003e, wood, felt, cloth, at a weight the hands can feel. \u003cstrong\u003eIt tells the truth by itself\u003c\/strong\u003e: the shape fits or it does not, the key turns or it does not, and nobody has to say well done for the child to know. \u003cstrong\u003eAnd the child runs it alone\u003c\/strong\u003e, from taking it out to putting it back.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat last one is the whole thing. A toy that needs an adult sitting next to it is not doing the job, whatever the box says.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat to skip follows from the same four. Anything that does the work for the child, announces the answer, or rewards them for pressing a button is the opposite of this shelf, however wooden it looks. The useful question in a shop is not whether a toy is labelled Montessori. That is not what we sell, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat we stock is \u003cstrong\u003eMontessori-style\u003c\/strong\u003e: toys built on the same principles, one job, honest materials, child-led. Most run on hands alone with nothing to charge. \u003cstrong\u003eTwo do not\u003c\/strong\u003e, and it is worth naming them rather than hoping you do not notice.
